HOW WE PRINT
HOW WE PRINT
It is important to me that I deliver the highest quality reproductions of my artwork to my customers, ensuring you receive nothing but the very best, every time.
Using top-tier Liquitex professional heavy body acrylic paints, each piece is
meticulously crafted for vibrant, lasting color and subject matter.
I use museum-grade archival-quality materials, photographing each work at
ultra-high-resolution using a Nikon HDSLR 24.2-megapixel DX format camera with
special lighting, and then adjust each image to ensure it is color graded and true to the original colors of the paint on the canvas.
Partnering with Gooten, a leading global art printer who can ship rapidly from
multiple locations around the world, their exceptional print quality on archival paper, stretched canvas options, or Giclée museum-quality prints is unmatched. I've opted for the latest museum-quality inkjet printing technology
for its remarkable archival reproduction color accuracy and projected 100-300
year color-fast longevity for its fine prints.
Production Timeframes & Shipping:
Original art is typically shipped within 48 hours, while our reproduction art is usually produced within 1-3 days from purchase, plus shipping time to deliver, typically 3-7 days. Our printer has a 95% on-time shipping rate and extremely low errors. Some items such as Giclée Fine Art Prints and Canvas Reproductions may take slightly longer. Occasionally, some materials are out of stock at the manufacturer, which may incur a longer production time.
PRINT QUALITY
PRINT QUALITY
My art radiates with my choice of top-tier Liquitex professional heavy body acrylic paints, renowned for their museum-quality, high
viscosity, pigment-rich, lightfast satin finish. Our dedication to quality extends to the canvas itself, with gesso-coated, archival-quality, acid-free, natural cotton or linen stretched over sturdy, kiln-dried, sustainably sourced wood stretcher bars.
My process continues with meticulous, high-resolution photography using advanced equipment and techniques that capture the essence of each piece. We ensure the utmost color accuracy and vibrancy, converting RGB to CMYK color mode for optimal printing results.
I partner with a leading print-on-demand provider for exceptional quality control. Each order placed undergoes stringent checks, from file inspection and print calibration to material assessment and color matching. We extend this attention to detail through the packing and shipping process, ensuring your artwork arrives in pristine condition.
My commitment to quality is unwavering, as we value customer satisfaction above all else. Should any issues arise, I will address them promptly and efficiently, offering replacements or refunds as needed.
Inkjet pigment ink prints can last for over 200 years on archival paper, (longer than the original paint on the canvas!) under proper environmental and display conditions, in contrast to C-prints which have a true life of only 30-40 years. Today’s professional inkjet pigment printers can reproduce colors beyond that of the Adobe RGB color space, into ProPhoto RGB territory - the only color space large enough to contain all the colors a camera’s sensor can capture.
Inkjet printers use a greater range of color inks, both dye and pigment, than any other printing process, and Inkjet pigment prints exhibit greater contrast, smoother color gradations, deeper blacks (Dmax), and finer shadow details than chemical dye prints.
You can choose multiple sizes and print options including Glossy or Lustre (a hybrid of gloss and matt paper that has a lower light reflection) paper reproduction, canvas reproduction, and can even choose to have your art framed within the buying and reproduction process, to enhance the space where you will hang it.
When it comes to paper, I exclusively use acid-free, 100% cotton archival paper for my prints, providing an elegant and welcoming touch to any space, that uniquely give our print-on-demand artworks a soft look and feel, to create a welcoming and hospitable touch to your home or office.
My dedication to quality materials and processes guarantees artwork that will not only captivate but also stand the test of time.
Acid-free vs Archival Quality Paper
While both acid-free and archival quality papers offer some level of protection against degradation, archival quality paper provides more comprehensive safeguards against deterioration over time, typically over many,
many decades or even centuries. If you're looking to ensure the highest level
of preservation for your prints for a long time, especially if they are valuable or historically significant (as are my art prints!), choosing archival quality paper is the preferred option.
Additional High-Quality Print Options:
Giclée Highest Quality Prints:
The highest museum-quality reproduced paper prints I offer (pronounced jhee-CLAY), in multiple sizes are the remarkable Giclée-style art prints. This method employs truly refined printing techniques, including archival inks on satin art paper.
Canvas Prints:
Also available for most print options in various sizes are canvas art prints using the best printing standards, meaning smooth, high-resolution images with bright, vivid colors, mounted on stretched high quality cotton or cotton-linen prepared canvas with a 1 ¼ inch frame - just like the original art piece.
In my print-on-demand process, I prioritize quality at every step. Utilizing top-tier Liquitex professional heavy body acrylic paints on archival-quality canvas, I ensure vibrant, long-lasting colors. Each artwork is meticulously photographed with a high-resolution Nikon camera under natural light for accurate color reproduction. Working with my best-in-class printing partner, orders are processed swiftly. I emphasize proactive customer service, promptly addressing any concerns to ensure your satisfaction. For my highest museum-quality prints, I offer standard and Giclée-style reproductions, known for their refined printing techniques and archival inks. SUSTAINABILITY
SUSTAINABILITY
Sustainability entails satisfying everyone on our earth’s current needs without jeopardizing the health of our planet, thereby enabling future generations to fulfill their own requirements and thrive.
Practicing sustainability involves making daily choices that promote the well-being of all beings and ecosystems on Earth. It's essential for each of us to be mindful of our decisions, striving to harmonize economic, social, and environmental priorities to secure a brighter tomorrow for present and future generations.
HERE ARE MY COMMITMENTS TO SUSTAINABILITY IN MY ART PRACTICE & PROGRAMS.
• Net zero carbon by 2028
• A commitment to use sustainable and earth-friendly materials in my art wherever possible through sustainable art practices.
• Using recycled materials when possible
• A deep affinity and respect for nature and the environment through my work, to nurture understanding and sustainable life choices with my audiences
• Sustainable business and shipping practices wherever possible towards net-zero carbon
• Working with my non-profit (www.humanitywe.org) to help the world's poorest people move out of poverty
• Support & alignment with the United Nations Race to Zero Campaign
• Helping to create entrepreneurs, jobs, and sustainable income for people, families and whole communities through my art and charity
• A commitment to help rebuild sustainability within our fragile oceans
• Through Creative Life programs, a commitment to teach sustainability practices and help build more effective leadership to contribute to a better world for this, and future generations
Carbon-Reduced and Environmentally Friendly: Inkjet printing is more environmentally friendly, as Inkjet printers require far less energy than other digital technologies, and use earth-friendly, water-based pigment inks, without any chemicals used in the printing process. Inkjet printing has a much lower carbon footprint due to lower energy consumption, reduced waste generation, and fewer emissions than most other forms of art reproduction. Additionally, with so many connected printing facilities globally, the art can be printed through a smart supply chain, dynamically routing and producing orders closest to you the consumer, reducing shipping costs and delivery / transportation carbon into the atmosphere.
This makes inkjet printing a more environmentally responsible choice for your home environment (no chemicals), for businesses like mine (reducing carbon footprint, energy and chemicals), ….and for the planet as a whole.
A Commitment to Sustainable Art.
I commit to producing at least one sustainable planet art piece each month, with the purpose of creating awareness to the current environmental challenges many of Earth's species are experiencing.
Live a Smaller Footprint.
I advocate for embracing a lifestyle that minimizes our environmental footprint, encouraging moderation in consumerism, resisting the urge for excessive consumption, and prioritizing low carbon-high sustainability lifestyles and values whenever possible.
Art to Inspire Change.
As societal values evolve alongside global changes, I aspire to use my art and programs to inspire individuals to rethink their choices and adopt practices that lead to a smaller ecological footprint.
I firmly believe that such a lifestyle not only benefits the planet but also contributes to individual happiness.

HOW WE SHIP
HOW WE SHIP
Each art piece you purchase is typically reproduced/printed at my contracted print-on-demand facilities located in the USA or at one of 75+ print locations around the world…. and then shipped to your location.
Your art prints will arrive directly from one of the Gooten Print-on-Demand facilities. The shipping process typically commences after reproduction and fulfillment (the printing process takes 1-3 days after you purchase through my online store). After reproduction my printer packages your artwork, and then ships your orders direct to your home. After being printed, they typically take 10-14 days or less, to arrive to your location.
By sending the order to the location closest to where you live to be printed, it keeps the shipping cost lower, and enables me to sell and deliver my art prints to almost anywhere in the world at reasonable pricing.
Shipping costs vary based on location and chosen shipping method. We strive for timely deliveries, but please allow 5-10 days, and up to 14 days for special offers and longer transit times for certain US territories. Should any issues arise during shipping, contact us, and we'll work to resolve them promptly.
My production partner works daily with the shipping providers to monitor timelines continuously and optimize them as best as possible. Shipping times can vary for several treasons out of my control, and can occur for due to the following scenarios:
• Increase in overall shipping times during the holiday peak season.
• International orders with limited tracking as they go through customs and are being shipped by sea/air.
• USPS orders require extra days during sorting.
International shipping times
International shipments may take up to 30 business days in transit but are usually delivered within 1-4 weeks from the ship date through DHL.
I have experienced a couple of instances where an International order may take upwards of a month to deliver. There are factors beyond my control that may extend the delivery window, including but not limited to:
• Packages being handled by multiple carriers, when handed off to local carriers in different cities /regions/countries.
• If the artwork is delivered to remote or hard to get to places where deliveries may be infrequent
• Local customs department processing time
• Natural disasters or other issues delaying typical delivery times.
For these reasons, we are unable to guarantee a delivery date with certainty for international deliveries.
Each art piece you purchase is typically reproduced/printed at my contracted print-on-demand facilities located in the USA or at one of 75+ print locations around the world… before being shipped directly to you. After a brief printing process of 1-3 days, your order is packaged and shipped, typically taking 10-14 days or less to reach your location. This strategic approach minimizes shipping costs and allows for affordable delivery worldwide. Our shipping process prioritizes quality service to ensure timely and satisfactory delivery. Shipping prices are determined by factors such as location, shipping method, and product type, with special considerations for US territories. In the rare event of shipping damage, please contact me promptly @ peter@peterashworth.com. I will do my very best to resolve the problem, and replace the art or refund your money if needed.

CANVAS PRINTS VS PAPER PRINTS
CANVAS PRINTS VS PAPER PRINTS
Canvas and cotton paper prints are two popular options for reproducing artwork, each offering unique characteristics and aesthetics.
Ultimately, the choice between canvas and paper prints depends on personal preference, the intended use of the artwork, and the desired aesthetic. Canvas prints are ideal for creating a contemporary, gallery-like atmosphere, while paper prints offer versatility and affordability.
Canvas Prints:
Fine art and photo paper are relatively smooth, whereas canvas prints have much more texture. Manufacturers typically construct canvas from cotton, polyester, and linen (or flax), which gives it that characteristic texture and feel. Sometimes, you can find specialty fibers such as jute and hemp in different canvas types. Canvas is durable and can hold onto color incredibly well while having a stunning finish.
Texture: Canvas prints have a textured surface that adds depth and dimension to the artwork. This texture often mimics the look and feel of traditional paintings or gallery art works.
Durability: Canvas prints are typically more durable than paper prints. They are less prone to tearing, creasing, or damage from moisture compared to paper.
Versatility: Canvas prints can be stretched onto wooden frames, allowing them to be displayed without the need for additional framing. They can also be varnished for added protection and a glossy finish.
Modern Aesthetic: Canvas prints are often associated with a contemporary, gallery-style look, making them a popular choice for modern interiors.
Cotton Paper Prints:
You will commonly find people printing their art onto fine art paper. This paper is durable and made with a simple archival cotton or cotton blend that is acid-free. Fine art paper has a matte finish, meaning the texture is light and smooth to the touch. You can also print onto photo paper, but this paper struggles over time, and you’ll likely see it fade, crack, and yellow. Fine art paper is better because it can last over 100 years with little to no degradation. Because of this, many galleries will use fine art paper.
Texture: Cotton paper prints have a smooth surface that offers excellent clarity and detail, making them ideal for high-resolution printing. The lack of texture provides a clean and crisp appearance.
Authenticity: Cotton paper has been used for centuries in traditional printing processes due to its archival quality and longevity. Prints on cotton paper often have a classic, timeless appeal.
Matte Finish: Cotton paper prints typically have a matte finish, which reduces glare and reflections, making them suitable for displaying in well-lit environments or under glass.
Traditional Charm: Cotton paper prints evoke a sense of craftsmanship and tradition, making them a popular choice for fine art reproductions and vintage-inspired designs.
The choice between canvas and paper art prints depends on personal preference, the style of the artwork, the desired finished look of the artwork print, and the desired visual look on the wall.
